2. File Processing: Browser-Side vs Server-Side

A. Client-Side Processing (Primary Mode): The vast majority of tools on DSD Tools (including PDF compression, page splitting, merging, rotating, image resizing, background removal, object erasing, text tools, and code formatters) execute entirely inside your local web browser via client-side JavaScript, WebAssembly, and HTML5 Canvas APIs. In client-side mode, your documents, photos, and files are never uploaded to our servers or transmitted across our network.

B. Server-Side Temporary Processing (When Explicitly Required): For certain complex operations requiring server assistance or batch compression, files are uploaded securely over encrypted TLS connections to an isolated temporary directory outside the public web root. These files are processed automatically and purged from storage within 1 hour. We do not inspect, index, sell, or permanently archive your uploaded file contents.

3. Data We Collect & How It Is Used

• Account Information: If you voluntarily register an account, we collect your name, email address, and a cryptographically hashed password. Registered accounts store processing history metadata (tool used, original file size, processed file size, timestamp) and starred favorite tools.
• Server Log Data: Like standard web servers, our infrastructure logs incoming HTTP requests including your IP address, browser user-agent, operating system, referring URL, and access timestamps to protect against denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, brute-force exploits, and unauthorized API abuse.
• Local Storage (Guest Mode): For non-registered visitors, tool usage preferences and recent tool shortcuts may be stored locally on your device via localStorage. This data remains on your machine and is never shared.

4. Cookies, Analytics & Google Advertising
